Cheese and Pickle Blues

[Verse]
Mum packs my lunch at break of dawn,
Those same old sandwiches, the same old song.
Cheese and pickle, day after day,
I can’t take another bite, but what can I say?

[Chorus]
I’m tired of these cheese and pickle sandwiches,
Dreaming of a change in my plastic dishes.
Mum, I’m a road worker under the sun,
Wishing for a lunch break that’s a bit more fun.

[Verse 2]
My mates at work just laugh and tease,
“Here comes the pickle king,” they wheeze.
I wish I had something new to show,
Instead of this same ol’ lunch I know.

[Bridge]
Mum, I love you, don’t get me wrong,
But these sandwiches, they’re much too strong.
Just a bit of variety, to break the mold,
Something new to look forward to, if I might be bold.

[Chorus]
I’m tired of these cheese and pickle sandwiches,
Dreaming of a change in my plastic dishes.
Mum, I’m a road worker under the sun,
Wishing for a lunch break that’s a bit more fun.

[Verse 3]
Maybe a ham, or a bit of roast beef,
Anything to give my taste buds some relief.
A little change would lighten the load,
As I pour asphalt down this long, hot road.
